The Kick Off Meeting for the CRUE 2nd Common Call on 'Flood Resilient Communities - Managing the Consequences of Flooding' will be held on Wednesday, 21^st October at the Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA), Rome, Italy.

Researchers will be introducing their research objectives for transnational projects funded by the CRUE ERA-Net.  Seven research projects, commencing in September 2009, will be concentrating on a range of topics related to
'Improving Risk Awareness and Increasing Public Participation' and 'Flood Event Management'. 

Given our emphasis on ensuring the uptake of cutting edge research into flood risk management policy and practice, we would welcome attendance from those with an interest in flood risk management.  Please confirm attendance with Stefano Mariani by Saturday 10^th October 2009.
